name a song that gets you every time

Warning Sign, Coldplay.

Your turn.

I’ve never lived a moment I haven’t wanted to capture; I’ve never loved a view, a sky, a face, without wishing for a camera in my hand. Some may call this desire to click every instant into eternity a curse. They may be right – the longing always leads to letdown, for it is never quite possible to translate life, vibrant reality, onto film. I am in search of that perfect image, though, and always will be.

  1. Slide by the Goo Goo Dolls (literally on my list of favorite songs)
nearly anything by Ingrid Michaelson, but Soldier and The Hat and Are We There Yet and Die Alone in particular.
And 32 Flavors by Alana Davis just gets me.
    And Gravity. By Sara Bareilles
And nearly everything by JM, but Slow Dancing in a Burning Room and Belief in particular.

You know me; I could go on forever.

  2. OH and “Mine” by Taylor Swift. I normally find her songs to saccharine, but 1. I think this one is a lot more mature than some of her past ones and 2. It. Just. Gets me. I relate to the character in the song a lot.

  3. The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts- sufjan (and much of the rest of Illinoise)
also, collectively, the entire album “Shallow Grave” by the Tallest Man on Earth (but you have to be in the mood for the folkiness)
