Pile on the pretty…

captured mid-twirl

I really love the way a tiny (okay, in this case, more like ‘tremendous’) pop of print can bring a simple silhouette to life…

Royal blue eyeliner!

The way Joanna sticks to a uniform color palette and a streamlined look otherwise keeps the business from being too…busy. : P

Even her eyeliner, without seeming ‘matchy’, just plucks out the blues from across the board.

And I know they’re a bit harder to see fitting into the mix, but for me, it’s the boots that really cap off the outfit. In this photo especially, the soft pool of sunlight they sit in is such a cool (warm?) contrast to their tough, worn, hiker/biker feel. They’re kind of an ironic complement to the formality of the dress and the plush patterns accenting it. Somehow I like that there’s so much … different going on.

back to basics - surreal simplicity

But then again –

There’s always a little something to be said for simplicity, isn’t there. : )
